The directory data

• registremicro is a directory of Quebec microbreweries. The listings (business name, address, permit category, etc.) come from public registries and are not personal information you provide to us.
• We enrich some listings with public information (website, description, geographic coordinates) to make the directory more useful.
• Directory data is updated daily from public sources.

Account & sign-in

• Browsing the directory, the map and the listings requires no account. You can explore everything anonymously.
• An account is optional: it only lets you save microbreweries to favorites and post comments. For that, we store your email address, your display name and an encrypted password.
• We use your email to verify your account and, if needed, to write to you about your account. No newsletter, ever.

Favorites & comments

• Your favorites are private and only visible in your profile.
• Comments you post are public and tied to your display name. Do not share information you don't want to be public.
• You can delete your own comments at any time.

Location

• The "near me" feature uses your device location to sort microbreweries by distance. Your location is processed on your device and is neither sent to our servers nor stored.
• Location permission is always optional — the directory remains fully usable without it.
• Maps are powered by Google Maps, which may receive technical data under its own terms.

Usage analytics

• We collect anonymous, aggregated usage statistics to improve the service. This data is not used to identify you.
• On the web we may use Google Analytics; the mobile app includes no analytics. Where used, analytics is optional and may be disabled in a given build of the service.
• We do not sell or rent your personal data to third parties.

Advertising

• The website may display ads served by Google AdSense to help cover hosting costs.
• Ad networks such as Google may use cookies to serve ads, in accordance with their own policies.

Retention & deletion

• You can delete your comments individually at any time.
• To have your account and associated data deleted, write to us from the contact page. Account deletion is permanent.
• Directory data from public sources is not data about you and is not affected by account deletion.

Changes to this policy

We may update this page from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll note them on this page.
